Grafting Master Class

Excel your skillset and build confidence with a practical hands-on course designed for clinicians who would like to learn and incorporate soft and hard tissue management into their daily practice.

This workshop aims to enhance knowledge of soft and hard tissue augmentation to equip practitioners for surgical success.

  • Appreciate and become proficient at guided tissue regeneration
  •  Increase the predictability of a safe, successful and streamlined grafting procedure
  • Recognise, manage and prevent associated complications

Learning Objectives

Don’t be left behind! Patients and practitioners are rapidly becoming more appreciative of periodontal harmony. With the additional growth of implants, it is vital that dentists learn to manage soft and hard tissue defects to help plan implant cases and manage periodontal and peri-implant defects.

This course will teach you the fundamentals of soft and hard tissue grafting. Beginning with a brief revision of the periodontium, you will then learn how to identify patients who would benefit from such surgeries, as well as safe and effective ways to manage them. This includes suture technique and flap design, soft and hard tissue graft materials with specifications on the qualities and handling of each, and post-procedural management. Medico-legal advice and managing complications will also be discussed to help you gain a comprehensive view of this field.

Theory will then be put into practice with afternoon sessions each day dedicated to pig-head practicals. Familiarise yourself with the techniques and materials our periodontic experts recommend, and refine your knowledge with the opportunity for personalised guidance.

Dr. Devika Iyer (Masters of Periodontics and Masters of Implantology) will lead this course along with Dr. Cindy Nguyen (Periodontist) and Dr. Matthew Youssef (PGdipImplants). As leaders in their field, you can be assured that you will receive thorough, evidence-based and up-to-date information on advancements in this field. Post-course support is also available from our key organisers to ensure that you can implement and bring your confidence in grafting back to your clinic.

The best thing about this course is the hands-on components where you get to do suturing on pigs heads and extractions on a real patient. Because the student cohorts are small, it really enables you to get more one-on-one attention with the tutors, pick up tips and tricks, and identify small errors that you might be making and correct them straight away

Dr. Diluni Perera

The experience definitely made me really confident to get started on the simpler cases of the implants and I feel confident to do it in a safe, predictable way.

Dr. Haya Awni

Theory component was very comprehensive, and now the practical component is so good because it is a small group of people. It’s such a supportive, nice tight-knit learning environment. I feel comfortable taking these things that I’ve learnt and implementing them in my practice because I’ve done it before now, and with the guidance of a specialist. I feel very comfortable asking questions and making sure that I fully understand the content being taught… that is massive… you can’t put a price on that

Dr. Wynton Perrot

Caliber is the word that I’m looking for. From the tutors to the pig’s head practicals, I found the course is incredibly well resourced

There’s been a lot of discussions and opportunities to ask questions. The clinical educators were incredibly helpful. This really put my mind at ease with regards to the challenges ahead this implant program. I have enjoyed the course thoroughly and definitely would recommend it to my colleagues

Dr. Angela Rigo

My implant restoration and surgery skills have improved a lot. I feel like I can provide a better clinical outcome for my patients after attending the program. I am really happy with the course and would recommend it to my peers.

The fact that it’s face-to-face, small class size really intrigued me in the first place, as I enjoyed learning hands-on practicals with proper guidance from the clinical educators.

Dr. Daniel

Before ARIA course I would not know where to start my implant education
Previously I had attended other basic implant courses. Afterwards I was still hesitant about placing implants as I wasn’t confident. I couldn’t picture myself performing the procedure from start to finish.
But after attending the Master Implant Program, I feel like I’m confident enough to complete implant procedures by myself
Highlight of the course was the final module, where we got to actually place an implant on our own patients. It’s a really cool experience
The practical side was really fun and engaging, as we get to practice the surgery aspect of placing implants. It’s like a lab simulation before the live surgery module.
